We continue the good tradition of meetings with companies in the regions. In Poltava region, Dmytro Kysylevskyy and Oleksiy Movchan visited TAS POLTAVAGON. The enterprise is part of the industrial direction of TAS Group.
This is a unique high-tech production. They have two production sites of 35,000 and 56,000 sq.m., where they manufacture, in particular, tanks of various types for the transportation of vegetable oils and petroleum products.
This production is truly unique for Ukraine. Until 2014, the main manufacturer of such products was Azovmash. Today, TAS POLTAVAGON was able not only to preserve its competencies and revive, but also to launch serial production, master new technologies and, together with its subsidiaries, establish the production of components that were not previously produced in Ukraine. In particular, the absorption device and the brake system.
Thus, the production of the Ukrainian component is fully ensured.
Today, the tank cars that we saw in the workshops, manufactured to order by a company from the FRU Family - OKKO, have 85% localization. 60+ manufacturers of components and raw materials from all over Ukraine are involved in this work, which employs thousands of Ukrainians in total. In particular, these are Interpipe wheels, KSZ castings, HARP bearings and products of many other Ukrainian companies.
In July, OKKO received the first 20 new tank cars manufactured by TAS POLTAVGAGON. These are tank cars for petroleum products of the 15-1755 model with a carrying capacity of 68 tons. The service life of such a tank is 32 years. In total, the contract provides for the production of 100 such tanks. It is expected that OKKO will receive the entire batch in early 2025.
OKKO selected the tank manufacturer through a tender. This is a great example of how TAS POLTAVGON wins in terms of the quality and speed of its production, including foreign companies.
From the signing of the contract with TAS POLTAVGON to the release of the first batch, half a year has passed.
And this is also a clear illustration of the fact that localization of production and the principle of “Like for like” should be a priority not only for state, but also for private procurement.
Using the example of OKKO’s position, we see that today orders for hundreds of millions of hryvnias can be placed within the country, supporting its economy and its colleagues.
Maintaining the necessary pace of production is currently extremely difficult. Every day is a struggle to conscientiously fulfill its obligations to customers and maintain the reputation of a reliable partner. Hostile shelling of the region where production facilities are located, long-term power outages, problems with a shortage of people and employee bookings are serious challenges for TAS POLTAVGON. Today, 140 people work here. The company says that they could have employed much more, but the shortage of personnel is making itself felt.
However, they are 100% sure that they will cope with the order in a timely manner and in full.
Currently, the company is planning additional investments and production of new types of products, is modernizing production, and is waiting for new equipment.
All these are concrete steps, thanks to which new Ukrainian tanks will not only run within Ukraine, but will also have good export prospects.
We thank the plant staff and the owner of TAS Group, Serhiy Tigipko, for the statesmanlike position and the development of Ukrainian industrial production.
Together to Victory!
